Rental Conditions

General Conditions

By signing the contract, the driver(s) declare that they have read and accepted the conditions detailed in this document, which are necessary for the use of the vehicle.

ARTICLE 1 – RENTAL REQUIREMENTS

    1. Experience and age requirements:

For all vehicles, it is necessary to have driving experience. For motorcycles at least one year CONTINUOUSLY and in the case of cars to have more than three years of experience. If the manager considers that the customer does not have the necessary skills to drive the vehicle (motorcycle or car), the vehicle will not be delivered and the payment made online will not be refunded.

  • For 125cc motorcycles and their electric equivalents, the driver must be over 21 years old. For motorcycles of 300cc or more, the minimum age is 25 years.
  • In the case of cars, the minimum age is 25 years.
  • A valid passport or ID card is required.
  • The driver’s license must be original and valid.
    • 125cc (A1 or B with 3 years experience).
    • 200cc and 300cc (A2).
    • 350cc or more (A2 or A).
    • Car driving licence (B).
    • For permits outside the EU or from countries without an agreement with Spain, it will be necessary to present an International Driver’s License along with the original. International licenses obtained online are exempt only physical international licenses issued by the equivalent body to the DGT of Spain (Check with your embassy before booking).
  • A minimum of one year continuously driving motorcycles experience is required.

1.3. If the customer does not comply with these requirements, the vehicle will not be delivered, and the amount paid will not be refunded.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTRACT HOLDER AND AUTHORIZED DRIVERS

ARTICLE 2 – COLLECTION AND RETURN OF THE VEHICLE

The contract holder is responsible for ensuring that he or she and any additional drivers comply with the conditions set out in the contract. If these conditions are breached, Ride On may take legal action, such as removing the vehicle or demanding its return through the courts.

Responsibilities When Picking Up the Vehicle

  • Billing: The invoice will be issued on the name of the contract holder. Once signed, it cannot be modified. If the invoice in the name of a company is required, it must be requested before the contract is formalized..

Vehicle check: The contract holder must inspect the vehicle before using it with the company employees at the time of collection and report any discrepancies with the damage or accessories specified in the contract. The contract holder agrees to return the vehicle in the same condition in which it was received, on the date, time and place agreed in the contract. The return must be made exclusively at the agreed place..

Acceptance of the condition of the vehicle: By signing the contract and the annex, the contract holder accepts the condition of the vehicle, the accessories present and the damage recorded. Any damage not previously identified will be attributed to the owner.

  • Assembly of extras: If accessories such as child seats are rented, the customer must be responsible for their installation, as Ride On is not responsible for doing it.
  • Acceptance of conditions: By signing the contract, the client accepts the general and particular conditions of the rental..

2.2. If for reasons beyond our control the customer does not pick up the vehicle at the agreed time, the contract will not be extended and any unused hours or days will not be refunded.

2.3. The delivery of the vehicle will be made at the time requested by the customer in the online booking form. If the customer wishes to pick it up before the agreed time, they must pay the corresponding additional amount.

2.4. The agreed return time must be respected without exceptions. The contract will end when the customer returns the vehicle, keys and documentation to the indicated store.

2.5. If the customer selects a pick-upp and drop-off point outside of our offices, they will be provided with a private transfer to our headquarters for the delivery of the vehicle. These transfers are subject to a time frame and may be affected by traffic, which could cause an earlier or later arrival than planned.

2.7. In Menorca, bookings made after 11:30 p.m. will have an additional charge of €50 for pick-up after hours.

ARTICLE 3 – DEPOSI AND PRE-AUTHORISATION

3.2. The deposit or pre-authorisation may not be used for an extension of the rental. The payment of the deposit or pre-authorization must be made exclusively by credit card, except for the pre-authorization if the client decides to hire the vehicle (whether motorcycle or car) with the RIDER rate (basic rate) which must be by CREDIT card. In the case of the RIDER rate, this amount does not cover all possible damages, so if the damage to the vehicle exceeds the amount of the pre-authorization, the contract holder must pay the difference according to the established rates.

We do not accept debit card for the Rider rate. .

Once the Client returns the vehicle together with the keys, the Company will consider the contract terminated. The deposit and pre-authorisation will be returned within a maximum period of 30 days. If it has been paid by card and if the rental exceeds 28 days, the refund will not be made by card. The costs of the bank transfer for the return of the deposit will be the responsibility of the Client.

In addition to the rental price. The rental of a motorcycle or car requires a deposit, deposit and/or pre-authorization. All our rentals include basic insurance, the deposits to be paid in rentals with Rider rate are:

ARTICLE 4 – INCIDENTS AND THEFT

4.1. In the event of an accident or theft, the Client must contact the Police within 24 hours and file a report. In addition, you must report the theft to Ride On by calling 971 576 958.

If the accident involves another vehicle, Client must bring to Ride On the report signed by both parties within 24 hours of the incident. If the report is not delivered, the coverage will be cancelled and the Renter must fully cover the damage to the vehicle.

In the event of theft, the contract holder must bring the report together with the keys of the stolen vehicle to the Ride on office. If the client has contracted the Rider rate and the vehicle is not recovered before the end of the contract, they must pay 100% of the excess according to the applicable rates. If the Customer has the K&G Pro Rider or Premium rate and does not present the keys and report within 24 hours of the theft, they will be required to pay 100% of the Rider fare excess.

4.4. The Driver/Client is responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle during the rental, unless the Company accepts full or partial liability from a third party.

4.6. Damage caused by the Client will be assessed by the Company and a quote will be provided for its repair. The deposit will not be returned until the cost of the repair has been determined.

ARTICLE 5 – FUEL

5.1. No fee includes fuel. Ride On will deliver the vehicle with a full tank and the Client must return it in the same condition. If the vehicle is not returned with a full tank, a refuelling service, including time and travel, will be charged according to the applicable rates.

ARTICLE 6 – MAINTENANCE

6.1. The Client  may not carry out repairs on the vehicle without the prior written authorisation of the Company.

6.2. Maintenance and lubrication of the vehicle are included in the fees. However, damage resulting from misuse of the vehicle, such as punctures or tire changes, is not covered.

6.3. Mechanical wear and tear due to normal use of the vehicle is the responsibility of Ride On.

6.4. The Client must stop the vehicle if any anomaly is detected and contact Ride On on 971 576 958 or the roadside assistance company.

6.5. Any damage to the vehicle or its accessories will be charged to the Client. This includes damage to plastics, glass, lights, tires, cabin, upholstery, and other accessories. In the event of lost keys, the Customer will be required to cover replacement costs, which vary depending on the type of key and vehicle.

ARTICLE 7 – ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

7.1. The roadside assistance service is included in the rate for problems specific to the vehicle within the following distance limits: 15 km around our offices in Barcelona and Valencia, 25 km in Palma de Mallorca and the entire island of Menorca. If the vehicle is further away, the Client must hire and pay the corresponding towing service.

ARTICLE 8 – ADDITIONAL VEHICLE COVERAGE

8.1. RATES THAT INCLUDE:

Rider Rate (Basic)

  • Coverage: Covers damage to third parties.
  • Conditions: Only drivers expressly authorized by Ride On in the rental agreement are covered.
  • Validity: Coverage is valid only for the period specified in the rental agreement. If the vehicle is returned after the agreed timeframe, the coverage is voided

Pro Rider Rate

  • Total Comfort Coverage: This coverage only protects drivers authorized by Ride On in the contract.
  • Validity: Coverage is valid only for the agreed rental period. If the vehicle is returned after the deadline, the coverage is voided.

Benefits:

  1. Collision damage protection without excess: If the holder follows the procedures indicated by Ride On in the event of an accident or mechanical failure, they will not have to pay for the damages.
  2. Protection against theft without excess: If the instructions are followed in the event of theft or theft of the vehicle, no financial responsibility will be assumed.
  3. Coverage of specific elements: Includes punctures, assistance, and/or replacement of the vehicle if necessary.
  4. Basic Roadside Assistance: Service available during rental.

Premium K&G Rate

  • Coverage: Exclusive to drivers authorized by Ride On in the contract.
  • Validity: Only valid for the period specified in the rental agreement. If it is returned outside this period, the coverage is voided..

Benefits:

  1. Collision damage without excess: The holder will not be required to pay anything if they follow the procedures established by Ride On in the event of an accident or mechanical failure.
  2. Theft without excess: If the proper protocol is followed in the event of theft, no amount related to the theft will have to be paid.
  3. Vehicle-specific parts coverage: Includes damage to tires (including punctures), rims, mirrors, glass, locks, and battery.
  4. Additional Coverage: In case of loss or breakage of the keys, or if the keys are left inside the vehicle, the rate includes replacement or repair..

ARTICLE 9 – PENALTIES

Breakage, damage, loss, theft of vehicle or accessories:

  • Vehicle stickers: 45 € per unit
  • Vehicle documentation: 50
  • Tray: Official rating, depends on the model of the vehicle
  • Topcase (motorcycles only):  80 €
  • Helmet (motorcycles only):  60€
  • Spare wheel: Official rating, depends on the vehicle model
  • Antenna: 30 €
  • Emergency triangles: 30 €
  • Vest: 20 €

Tire Repair Fee:

  • Repair without replacement:  100 €
  • Repair with replacement:  250 € per axle

Breakdown, Loss, Theft, or Theft of Vehicle Keys:

In the event of breakage, loss, theft or theft of the keys of the rented vehicle, Ride On will apply a minimum penalty of €250, plus an additional penalty for the time that the vehicle cannot be used, equivalent to one rental day according to the current daily rate.

Fuel error fee:

Ride On will apply a minimum penalty of €250, which may be up to the value of the vehicle’s total excess, depending on whether there has been damage to the engine (official valuation).

Vehicle replacement penalty:

In the event of negligence, exclusion from insurance coverage or failure to comply with specified obligations, a penalty of 100€ will be applied.

Special Cleaning Fee:

The rental price includes a standard cleaning of the vehicle. However, if special cleaning is required (e.g. mud, dirt, animal hair, waste remains, cigarette butts, sand), Ride On will charge a penalty of 80€ (e.g. mud, dirt) or 180€ to cover the costs of treatment and stoppage of the vehicle (e.g. cement remains, plaster, materials used in construction sites, excrement, vomit, stains on upholstery, etc.). etc.).

Special cleaning will be considered when an exhaustive action is required that involves the vehicle leaving its usual washing cycle.

The vehicle will be inspected by an company employee together with the client at the time of return, and the clients’s allegations will be taken into account. A detailed report with photographs will be sent. In the event of disagreement, the client  may submit allegations within 14 days to the customer service email.

Charge for smoking inside the vehicle:

Ride On prohibits smoking inside its vehicles. If the smell of tobacco is detected, a penalty of 120€ will be applied to cover the costs of special treatment and cleaning.

The vehicle will be inspected by company employee togather with the client  at the time of return. In the event of disagreement with the assessment, the client  may submit allegations within 14 days to the customer service email. If an agreement is not reached, consumer arbitration may be resorted to.

Return to Another Office Fee:

Ride On does not offer the possibility to return the vehicle to another location. The vehicle must be returned to the same pick-up location. If the vehicle is returned to another location, a penalty of €50 will be applied. In addition, the renter will be responsible for the payment of the daily rental fee and the costs of recovering the vehicle.

Late Return Fee:

Ride On offers a complimentary 30-minute window for vehicle return. This margin must be set at the time of booking, otherwise it will not apply.

In the event that the client does not return the vehicle at the agreed time, the contracted coverage will be invalidated and the contract holder will be responsible for the payment of the damage caused to the vehicle. In addition, a penalty of 30€ will be applied, plus recovery costs, which can be a minimum of 350€ if the vehicle has been reported as not returned after 24 hours.

The client will also be responsible for payment of the prevailing daily rental rate for each day of delay.

If Ride On is delayed by more than 30 minutes in the delivery of the vehicle, the customer will be compensated with an amount of 30€.

ARTICLE 9 – LUGGAGE TRANSFER SERVICE

9.1. The luggage collection and delivery service at hotels has a cost that will be specified on the Company’s website. This rate includes both delivery to the hotel or home and pick-up, and cannot be split up.

9.2. The service, contracted through the website or at any of our offices, may be cancelled before it is used without any charge. However, if the service has already started (i.e. if any delivery or collection has been made), the amount cannot be refunded, as this service is not divisible.

9.3. Delivery and collection times will be determined by the Company based on its operational planning. The client must remain attentive to the contact telephone number in case any problem arises that may affect the route of the delivery person. In the event that the delivery or collection cannot be completed due to lack of communication, the courier will return the bags to the base of operations, where the client can collect them during opening hours. Alternatively, if requested by the client, the bags may be included in a later route, which will incur an additional cost.

9.4. Luggage will be delivered to the hotel reception. In private accommodations or those that do not have a reception, it will be the Client’s responsibility to be available at the time determined by the delivery person.

9.5. It is the Client’s obligation to provide the Company with the complete address of the accommodation. In addition, the Client must inform the accommodation that Ride On will deliver the luggage at reception.

9.6. Luggage deliveries will not be made in areas of the old town or in places where vehicles do not have direct access to the accommodation. In these cases, the client must go to the nearest point where the delivery person can arrive with the vehicle.

9.7. The luggage service allows the transport of up to two (2) suitcases per rented motorcycle and one (1) backpack.

ARTICLE 10 – USE OF THE VEHICLE

10.1. The Client commits to use and drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving and traffic rules, respecting the specifications of use specific to the type of vehicle rented.

10.2. It is strictly forbidden for the Client to leave Spanish territory with the vehicle (motorcycle or car) rented from Ride On, unless express written consent of the Ride On company.

10.3.

  • For 49cc motorcycles: Circulation outside the urban area of Barcelona or Valencia, as well as on dual carriageways and motorways, is prohibited.
  • For motorcycles with a larger cylinder capacity (125cc, 200cc, 300cc or more cylinder capacity): Circulation outside Barcelona or Valencia, including motorways and dual carriageways, is allowed, as long as it is within a radius of 15 km from the Rideon office. However, it is forbidden to leave Spanish territory from offices on the Peninsula.
  • In the case of offices in Menorca and Mallorca, it is forbidden to leave the island where the vehicle was rented, regardless of the cylinder capacity, unless expressly authorised in writing by the Company.

10.4. The Client is not authorized to carry passengers. If they do so, it will be at their sole risk.

10.5. Only persons identified and accepted by Ride On in the rental agreement may drive the vehicle. Such persons must be over 21 or 25 years old, depending on the rented model, and possess a valid and current driving license.

10.6. The client  must keep the vehicle in good condition, park it in safe and duly authorized places. Likewise, you should not keep the vehicle’s documents inside to prevent problems in case of theft.

10.7. It is forbidden to assign, rent, mortgage, pledge, sell or use the vehicle as collateral. It is also not allowed to modify its technical characteristics or its exterior or interior appearance, unless authorized in writing by Ride On.

10.8. It is not permitted to transport the vehicle by boat, truck or any other means of transport, unless expressly authorised in writing by the Company.

10.9. In the event of removal of the vehicle by the authorities, the cost of recovering it from the municipal deposit will be 80€ for motorcycles and 160€ for cars.

10.10. No amount will be refunded in case of early return of the vehicle before the date stipulated in the contract.

10.11. No coverage includes special cleaning of upholstery or damage to the interior of the vehicle. These costs will be borne in full by the Client and assessed at the time of return.

10.12. Extraordinary cleaning of the cars will have an additional cost. Cleaning upholstery for stains caused by the client, such as ice cream, drinks or body creams, will cost 160€. In the event of burns to the upholstery or damage to the interior of the vehicle, the corresponding cost will be assessed and invoiced.

10.13. Damage to the underside of the car is not covered by any of the coverages contracted, as it involves driving off the usual roads. The client shall bear the full cost of the repair.

10.14. If the Client suffers an accident outside the legal routes of traffic (e.g. in an illegal car park, rural areas, rocks or unauthorized roads), no type of coverage will be applicable. The Client must bear the total cost of the recovery of the vehicle (motorcycle or car) and its repair.

ARTICLE 11 – EXTENSION AND CANCELLATION OF THE CONTRACT

11.1. If the client wishes to extend the rental, he/she must notify Ride On and the extension will depend on the availability of vehicles and the approval of the Company. The extension is carried out in person at our offices.

11.2. Cancellations must be made in writing to the cancelaciones@rideon.es email address, indicating the booking number. For non-refundable rates, no refunds will be made, except for K&G Premium and Pro Rider rates, which allow cancellations free of charge up to 24 hours before the start of the rental.

ARTICLE 12 – PAYMENTS AND METHOD OF PAYMENT

12.1. The holder of the bank card used for the rental agrees to pay the charges corresponding to the rental of the vehicle, coverage, taxes and any other concept related to the rental, according to the current rates.

12.2. The Client shall pay any additional charges arising from loss, damage or misuse of the vehicle, such as loss of keys, damage to tyres or improper refuelling.

12.3. Payment must be made by credit card (VISA or MasterCard/Maestro). Payment by bank transfer is not allowed.

ARTICLE 13 – EXEMPTION FROM LIABILITY

12.1. Ride on scooter rental s.l is not responsible for delays or blockages on the Internet network caused by deficiencies or overloads, as well as any other electronic system.

12.2. The impossibility of providing the Service or allowing access for any reason.

12.3. In the event that the client wishes to submit a complaint, they may send a letter to our headquarters at Calle Gustavo Mas, 21. CP 07760 Citadel of Menorca, Balearic Islands, Spain.

ARTICLE 14 – APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION

These General Conditions will be governed by Spanish Legislation, which will be applicable in matters not provided for in them in terms of interpretation, validity and execution. The parties expressly submit to the courts and tribunals of the place compliance with the obligation to settle any controversy that may arise in the interpretation and/or execution of these General Terms and Conditions of Contract.
